Clearing Browser Cache, Cookies and History

Some people call it clearing cache, others refresh cache and others may even call it a hard refresh or hard reload. What ever you call it, it's all the same thing.

To speed up web browsing, browsers will make a copy of website files on your local device - whether that be a computer, tablet or smartphone. Once the file is downloaded it's faster for the browser to use the copy than it is to download the file again (the file may be a web page or an image or some form of script like Javascript).

Why do I need to clear it?

Local cache files need to be cleared (deleted) sometimes because they can commonly become corrupt, causing web sites to error, not display and/ or behave properly.

Another reason is to force the web browser to use the most current copy of the web site's files. This is especially useful if fundamental code changes have been made to the web site.

What about cookies?

Clearing cache wont necessarily clear the browser's cookies. However clearing cookies can be done from the same screen and we'll include those instructions here also.

How do I clear my cache?

From the menu options on the top of this page, select the operating system you are using (Microsoft Windows, Mac, iOS (iPhone) or Android) and then the browser name.
